Blue-Fronted Amazon
General.JPG)
The Blue-fronted Amazon is one of the most beautiful amongst the Amazons and one of the best talkers. They are quite happy to look beautiful, be an entertainer and to be handled by only one person. They are generally not birds that like to be cuddled.
Generally they are a one person bird and not advisable as a pet for a whole family. Even though this is the general rule, we had a number of chicks, who were absolutely wonderful! They were gentle and quite happy with anyone who handled them. I have also seen an adult Blue-fronted at a pet shop, who was non aggressive towards strangers. My mother's Blue-fronted on the other hand definitely goes by the general rule.
My advice is to visit the breeder and play with it for a while to get a general idea of their character. I would also advise you to get this Amazon as young as possible and let the whole family give equal attention to it, if you intend it for a family bird. This however is still NO guarantee that it will become a family pet. Blue-fronted Amazons mostly tens towards the general rule of being aggressive and a one person pet.
